I live in Indiana. I go to school in Cincinnati. I'm registered to vote. Yet I cannot vote.
When I went to the BMV to register to vote, I asked about getting an absentee ballot. The woman who took my registration form told me she didn't know how I could get an absentee ballot. So I cannot vote in today's primary election. I am a generally well-informed citizen who wants to vote and took the time to register; yet because the woman whose job it is to take voter registration forms doesn't know how to request an absentee ballot, I cannot vote. It's not information that's easy to find anywhere. The state's employees that have anything to do with voting or voter registration should all know or have access to this information. Otherwise the state is cheating us out of our right to vote. Please, government officials, make it easier to find out how to request an absentee ballot and make sure that everyone who should know does. Make that information easy to find on an easy-to-find website. Otherwise you cheat well-informed and well-intentioned voters out of their rights.
